Racing bike tour along the Garden Route to Cape Town

Cycle along the white beaches of the Indian Ocean, through evergreen forests and the desolate Karoo, through the wild solitude of the Swartberg Mountains, through the Cape Winelands and then to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful metropoles in the world. Experience a breathtaking coastline, mountain passes and solitary gorges while cycling on very well constructed roads, which are on a par with European standards. The South African summer is between November and March. This means that you will cycle in warm temperatures in plenty of sunshine in the Cape Province. Our accompanying backup vehicle will be used to transport your luggage and a sufficient supply of water and bananas, thereby ensuring that you will enjoy a relaxing cycle tour. We overnight in selected guest houses, lodges and small hotels, where you will be pampered in a personal and relaxed atmosphere. This is an ideal bike tour for the more ambitious cyclist. The well-known Cape Town Cycle Tour around the Cape Peninsula attracts more than 35,000 participants annually and takes place on the second weekend in March. This cycle race is the jewel in the crown and the major highlight of this tour.

The town of Oudtshoorn, situated in the Klein Karoo, is known as the ostrich feather capital of the world, and Cape Town is a vibrant city lying at the foot of Table Mountain not far to the meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Road bike training camp in South Africa

The first 3 days can be enjoyed in the winelands, 200 km away from the Metropolis Cape Town. On the safe, quiet roads we pass many beautiful and inviting wineries. The route ranges from flat to slightly hilly and is framed by up to 1800m high Langeberg Mountains. Finally, we cycle along the most beautiful coastal roads in the country along False Bay and the Cape of Good Hope, where the well-known annual Cape Town Cycle Tour Bike Race takes place each March.

Cycling tour along the Garden Route to CapeTown Tour A & B - 18 days

This cycling tour of 18 days duration takes one from the Indian Ocean coastline to the elephants in the Addo Elephant National Park, through indigenous forests to ostrich farms in the dry semi-desert of the Little Karoo, from the solitude of the Swartberg Mountains to the Cape wine regions and finally to the lively and multicultural metropolis of the City of Cape Town. On this cycling tour, one will cycle through the Western Cape Province which, owing to its unique, compact yet varied landscape, is ideal for purposes of exploration by bike.
There are two routes to choose from: Route A will take one in the cooler months of October and March along a long stretch of road through the desolation of the semi-desert Little Karoo. Route B will take one in the warmer months of November till February closer to the cool coastline and includes a short trip into the semi-desert Little Karoo.

MTB tour from Table Mountain to Addo Elephant National Park

Experience the versatile landscapes of South Africa’s Western Cape by mountain bike. We partly make use of sections of the famous Cape Epic Mountain bike race. On single trails, sometimes on remote jeep tracks we ride in perfect weather conditions through a real treasure chest of plant life. That´s why Table Mountain, the Jonkershoek and Bosmansbos Wilderness area are part of the UNESCO world heritage site Capensis. The average bike distance is about 25 miles and 3000 ft. with a few days being longer. The surface varies from coarse gravel to rocks and roots in the forests. At the end of the trip see the Big 5 and more in Addo Elephant National Park. In Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay are of swimming possibilities on protected beaches. We stay in carefully selected guesthouses, hotels and chalets. This popular bike tour will introduce one to the highlights, landscapes and cultures of eastern South Africa and the Kingdom of Swaziland. The cycling excursions, which include several ascents, average between 18km and 56km per day. While walking or hiking, the tour guide will introduce you to the regional variety of flora and fauna as well as the different cultures. The cycle route will lead one along the Panorama Route to the Blyde River Canyon, you will undertake safaris in the Kruger National Park and be able to observe diverse species of animals. Experience the Swathi culture firsthand before travelling to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, where the largest rhino population in the world is to be found. Visit the renowned St. Lucia Greater Wetlands, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and go on a boat ride. Cycle and walk in the Ukhahlambra Drakensberg Mountains. Cycle through the beautiful Valley of a Thousand Hills, the country of the Zulu people, and experience their warm hospitality. For the greater part of this tour, 2 consecutive nights overnight accommodation will be booked at each point of arrival while en route, resulting in fewer transfers and more available time to discover this region by bike.
