Racing bike tour along the Garden Route to Cape Town

Cycle along the white beaches of the Indian Ocean, through evergreen forests and the desolate Karoo, through the wild solitude of the Swartberg Mountains, through the Cape Winelands and then to Cape Town, one of the most beautiful metropoles in the world. Experience a breathtaking coastline, mountain passes and solitary gorges while cycling on very well constructed roads, which are on a par with European standards. The South African summer is between November and March. This means that you will cycle in warm temperatures in plenty of sunshine in the Cape Province. Our accompanying backup vehicle will be used to transport your luggage and a sufficient supply of water and bananas, thereby ensuring that you will enjoy a relaxing cycle tour. We overnight in selected guest houses, lodges and small hotels, where you will be pampered in a personal and relaxed atmosphere. This is an ideal bike tour for the more ambitious cyclist. The well-known Cape Town Cycle Tour around the Cape Peninsula attracts more than 35,000 participants annually and takes place on the second weekend in March. This cycle race is the jewel in the crown and the major highlight of this tour.

Hiking tour South Africa: Cape Town, Wine lands and the Otter Trail

We explore Table Mountain and the Cape Peninsula before heading into the solitude of the Hottentot-Holland Mountains. In Montagu we enjoy the rugged sandstone formations of the Langeberg Mountains, before we continue to the most beautiful hiking route in South Africa, the Otter Trail. This guided tour takes us along the rocky, evergreen coast of the warm Indian Ocean for 5 days where we stay in simple log cabins in Tsitsikamma National Park. At the end of the tour we do a safari in an open Land Rover in the second largest National Park – Addo Elephant National Park.

Road bike training camp in South Africa

The first 3 days can be enjoyed in the winelands, 200 km away from the Metropolis Cape Town. On the safe, quiet roads we pass many beautiful and inviting wineries. The route ranges from flat to slightly hilly and is framed by up to 1800m high Langeberg Mountains. Finally, we cycle along the most beautiful coastal roads in the country along False Bay and the Cape of Good Hope, where the well-known annual Cape Town Cycle Tour Bike Race takes place each year in March.
Guests who travel between the 09.03.-15.03.2021 can take part in the amazing Cape Town Cycle Tour which is happening on the 14.3.2021. We can assist with the registration. An entry fee is applicable.

MTB tour from Table Mountain to the Garden Route

Discover the diverse landscapes of the Western Cape by mountain bike. For some parts you cycle on the routes of the famous Cape Epic Mountain Bike Race. In perfect weather you cycle on single trails and lonely jeep tracks through the unique flora. This diversity is why Table Mountain, Boosmansbos Wilderness Area and the Outeniqua Mountains are included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Capensis. The road surface varies from smooth tracks to well-travelled flow trails to coarse gravel, sometimes over roots. The first half of the trip is on selected MTB trails at different places in the Western Cape, in the second half the route adopts more of a touring character with riding from one accommodation to the next. At the end of the trip you are rewarded with the beautiful beaches of Wilderness. Accommodation is in a comfortable 4* level throughout and mostly in privately run guest houses.

Hiking tour around Cape Town in spring

Globally there are 5 plant kingdoms; South Africa is the only country in the world having one of them within its boundaries called Capensis. The Western Cape hosts 8% of the world plant species, this is some 18.000! That´s why the mountain ranges as well as some coastal arears have been recognized for this by having UNESCO World Heritage status. On various hikes and walks you will see them first hand. September/October in particular are the best months to see them flowering plus the Southern Right whales are roaming the coastal waters around the Cape and are easy to spot whilst hiking.

Hiking tour through two countries - from Cape Town to Windhoek

On this remarkable guided hiking tour real nature-lovers can closely get to know southern Africa. The trails of this hike will lead us through the impressive, bizarre mountain world of the Cederberg Mountains, canoe for 2 hours on the Desert River, Orange/Gariep, and hike in the Fish River Canyon – second biggest canyon in the world. Afterwards we visit the Namib Desert to Sossusvlei. The three one-day hikes in the Namib Desert are a unique experience with two nights sleeping on camp beds under the clear starry skies of the desert. After visiting the German influenced town of Swakopmund on the cold Atlantic, we will hike to the Spitzkoppe and visit famous Phillips Cave and its Khoi San rock art. Finally, we will have a three day safari in the animal rich Etosha Pan before heading to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
