Day 1 Arrival in Cape Town

On arrival you will be met by your tour guide at the airport. Afterwards you will be transferred to the beautiful Boat House Guesthouse in Simonstown. Simonstown with its Victorian style and its small harbour is situated at the False Bay on the Cape Peninsula. So we are not in the hectic hustle of the city but we are still close. The very friendly host will accommodate us for the next 4 days. Our Yoga lessons will be on a deserted beach close to the Boulders Penguin colony. It might happen that these cute animals will watch us during our exercises.

Day 2 Touring the Cape of Good Hope

Yoga session in the morning. By bike we ride along the sea to the Cape Point National Park. All the mountain ridges of the Cape Peninsula are under nature protection and for a good reason: more than 6000 endemic plant species can be found here. Especially the South African spring in October presents all the colourful plants. We ride to a bay on the sea. Sometimes you will see ostriches and bonteboks passing by. We will walk along the coastline, where we can find white breasted cormorants, sacred ibises, and black oystercatchers. On the beach we will have a picnic and enjoy the nature. After the visit of the famous Cape of Good Hope we will be transferred back to the guesthouse. (Walking distance 3 hours, mostly flat, plus bike 25 km, 200 am, tar) (B,L)

Day 3 Visit of the Botanical Garden Kirstenbosch and hike up Table Mountain

In the morning we will walk around in the famous Botanical Garden Kirstenbosch. In October the display of flowers is simply superb. Afterwards we will hike out of the garden up Table Mountain through the shady Skeleton Gorge. Table Mountain is one of the 7 New World wonder. As it didn’t burn in the past 15 years, the proteas look amazing. As a highlight you might see the Lily species Watsonia and the carnivorous plant drosera. Along the way we will have a picnic at the edge of Table Mountain. We go down via Cable Car and head back by bus to Simonstown. Yoga in the afternoon. (Hiking time 5 hrs, hg 950am) (B)

Afterwards, we will visit the castle, Parade Square, the Parliament Garden, Greenmarket Square, the Malay Quarter and the bustling Waterfront. After that everyone has their own time to look at things. Maybe a visit to Robben Island (reserve at least 1 week in advance!) Or the Two Ocean Aquarium or the new art exhibition in the former silo are of interest? In the evening drive back to Simonstown. (Hiking time 3 hrs, hg 450 am) (B)
